Discovery Science - Robots
The award winning creative agency Devilfish asked us to make their idea of some funny robots come to life for a set of Promos for the Discovery Channel. We designed and built two robots, based on the style you might find in a manufacturing plant. One robot was decidedly older in style then the other, which is reflected in its character... it is a little more stupid than its colleague, thus conjtinually making a mess of the other robots plans. The background set was created and shot for real, and we took some HDRI images on the day of the shoot by photographing reflections in chrome spheres, to get perfect photoreal reflections on the robots.
The final promos are being played worldwide on discovery channel and have just won Gold at Promax for Best On-Air Branding. We just think they are cute..!
